In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)
It’s hard to even comprehend eternity past, but the Bible tells us that before the foundation of the world, God, the Ancient of Days (Daniel 7:9), set us apart and predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:4-6).
This is important to understand, especially today, because society has done a great job of making us feel insignificant. Like we’re just a small speck in the vastness of the universe. This could not be further from the truth! The Bible says that we are created in God’s image (Genesis 1:26-27) which proves that we are not as insignificant as we are lead to believe by the world.
If predestination and election is true, and the Bible teaches that it is, then redemption and inheritance is also true. Which means that God wants those that he has set apart to be with Him for all eternity. We are truly loved, and paid for, by the King! (John 3:16)
What a glorious thought! Regardless of what the world tells you, we have a purpose in this life. To worship God and give Him the glory! Soli Deo Gloria!
